Brewhouse Production Capacity

Your brewhouse size is based on your production capacity and the size of your premises / site / facility. A typical unit measurement for brewhouse systems includes annual beer production volumes.

  • BBL / bbl = barrel
  • Gal = gallons
  • L / HL = liters, hectoliters (1 liter x 100)

Each barrel contains 117.35 liters / 31 gallons.

Brewhouse Production Capacity Based on 2 Week Production Cycles:

  • Home brewing / Homebrew system (0.5 to 5 barrel capacity): fewer than 500bbl per year.
  • Nano / craft brewery / brewpub (5 to 15 barrel capacity): 500bbl – 3,000bbls per year.
  • Macro /commercial brewery (15 barrels or more): 3,000bbl< per year.
