Your brewhouse size is based on your production capacity and the size of your premises / site / facility. A typical unit measurement for brewhouse systems includes annual beer production volumes.
- BBL / bbl = barrel
- Gal = gallons
- L / HL = liters, hectoliters (1 liter x 100)
Each barrel contains 117.35 liters / 31 gallons.
Brewhouse Production Capacity Based on 2 Week Production Cycles:
- Home brewing / Homebrew system (0.5 to 5 barrel capacity): fewer than 500bbl per year.
- Nano / craft brewery / brewpub (5 to 15 barrel capacity): 500bbl – 3,000bbls per year.
- Macro /commercial brewery (15 barrels or more): 3,000bbl< per year.
